Located in the hills of eastern Pennsylvania, Numidia Dragway is a favorite with local bracket racers and NHRA Division 1 competitors. The facility offers a smooth quarter-mile racing surface and some of the most majestic views at any drag strip in the nation.

This past weekend, the NHRA Division 1 tour made it way to Numidia offering competitors two chances to win as this was a double event. The first being the Micro Strategies National Open, followed by the Lucas Oil Divisional Series race.

Team Micro Strategies was well-represented with Anthony Bongiovanni and Dan Fletcher handling driving duties in Super Stock and Anthony and Ken Miele in Stock.

The Micro Strategies National Open was contested first and Anthony Bongiovanni had a fantastic outing behind the wheel of his Resource 1 Cobra Jet Mustang. Anthony made it past his side of the ladder, where he met Jeff Tripp in the final round. Unfortunately, Anthony lost on a breakout, after driving well all day.

“Ken and Dan have been really dialed in, but I haven’t raced as much so I was pleased with how my Cobra Jet Mustangs were running and it was great to go rounds and make it to the final of the Micro Strategies National Open,” said Anthony. “You always want to seal the deal when you make it that far, but Jeff and I had a close race and I just came up a bit short. Having a good-running car and hitting the tree clean gives you the confidence to race competitively so I’m excited to get back in the driver’s seat,” he added.

Bongiovanni Racing gathered it up and headed into the Lucas Oil event with strong passes. Anthony made news putting his Micro Strategies Stock Eliminator Ford on the pole with a 8.84-second quarter-mile pass. Ken wasn’t far behind, locking into the 6th spot with his own Micro Strategies-backed Cobra Jet Mustang. In Super Stock, Anthony qualified 4th with an 8.87, while Dan Fletcher came in 45th. Ken and Anthony bowed out early, but Dan lasted until the semi-finals, where he lost on a -.002 redlight to Aaron Allison, who was perfect on the tree.

“As a team we were happy with our performance,” said Anthony. “We’re into the heart of the season, the cars are running strong, and we feel good moving into the next few events. We’re planning to attend the NHRA Sportsnationals in Columbus and then the NMRA/NMCA Power Festival in Martin, Michigan. Those are two fun races that feature great sportsman competition. In fact, Micro Strategies sponsors Stock and Super Stock in NMCA and I’m looking forward to connecting and racing with the great competitors over there.”
